Informacija autoriams

The Editorial Board gives preference to manuscripts of high scientific level, that have not been published, and are written clearly not only for specialists but also for the general public interested in the questions of environment. Recommendations from competent authorities stating that the submitted article deals with relevant environmental questions, meets scientific requirements and is recommended to be published in the journal must be submitted by the authors to the Editorial Board. All manuscripts will be refereed by anonymous reviewers. The submitted manuscripts must be corrected according the reviewers remarks or contain an explanation why the remarks were ignored. All submissions should be made online at the website: www.erem.ktu.lt.
The length of the manuscripts is not strictly limited, but the suggested length is 6–8 pages.
The article should be organized in the following manner:
  • title,
  • names of the authors,
  • name of the institution,
  • abstract,
  • key words (up to five),
  • preface,
  • the main article text (it is recommended to subdivide the main text into smaller sections),
  • conclusions,
  • acknowledgements,
  • references,
  • abstract (in Lithuanian for papers from Lithuania).
The manuscript should be supplemented with the information about the authors: name, position, organization, main research areas, address, telephone and fax numbers, email address. Authors are requested to ensure that abstracts give concise factual information about the objectives of the work, the methods used, the results obtained and the conclusions reached. A recommended length for the abstracts is 12–15 lines.
Manuscripts editorial guidance
The article should be prepared using Microsoft Word. The type for the text should be Times New Roman and in Baltic Rim code for the Lithuanian abstract. All the paper names must be written in the original language (e.g. Šušvė, Šiauliai). The main text (except the abstract) is prepared in two columns with a space of 6 mm between them in single spacing.
The margins of the manuscript should be: on the left and right 25 mm, top and bottom – 20 mm. The title of the article must be of 16 pt (Bold), names of the authors – 14 pt (Bold), name of the institution – 10 pt (Italic), names of the paragraphs – 10 (Bold), key words 10 pt (Italic), the main text and the abstract – 10 pt, the names of tables and figures – 9 pt (Italic), comments and references – 9 pt., equations and their numbering – 10 pt, superscripts and subscripts – 8 pt.
Footnotes: Avoid footnotes. Essential information must be included in the text.
Illustrations and tables: all illustrations and tables should be in appropriate place in the manuscript. The titles of tables must be above the table (Table 1.), and the titles of illustrations’ under the figure (Fig. 1.). All figures must be numbered consecutively. Each figure and table must be clearly referenced in the text (e.g. Fig. 4, table 1) it has to be linked with the object. Printed version of the journal is in black color. Remember that text and symbols should be legible in print. Colors printing will be at authors' expense. The author should inform about the idea to print in color, when submitting manuscript.
Units, abbreviations, symbols and equations: Only metric units (SI) should be used in a manuscript. After the first appearance of a term in full, a standard abbreviation may be used. Superscripts, not slashes (/), should be used to describe units, e.g. kg m-3. Equations should be numbered consecutively and referenced in the text (e.g. Eq. 1), for example Am = B + C (1).
References: References should be listed at the end of the manuscript in alphabetical order. It must correspond the requirements of bibliographic citation standard (ISO 690, 2002). Citations in the text should be denoted with the author's surname and the year of publication (e.g.: using the data obtained by Kilkus et al. (2006) or using data from literature (Kilkus 1996, Tiessen&Moir 1993). If the text contains two or more papers written by the same author(s) in the same year, the citations should be differentiated by a letter (e.g.: (Staniškis 2008a). Journal names should be given in full and should not be translated. Titles of papers should be given in their original language and, if possible, they should be followed by a translation into English in parentheses. There should be active link with the reference list and citation in the text.
